The biggest challenge faced by most sabre fencers is the financial cost of training and competing. They receive little or no funding beyond what their parents can afford or stretch to. Your donations can make a real difference.
There are so many things a budding fencer needs. Here are some of the things your donation could go towards – though we would always seek best value for money so these are just approximations before club discounts:
£3 for some food at a competition
£8 for a mask wire
£20 will buy a spare body wire – having 2 is mandatory for most competitions
£30 for a new sabre blade
£40+ to enter most competitions – let alone the travel costs
£50 for a sabre glove that complies with the latest regulations
£100 for a non-FIE mask for national competitions
£240 for an electric sabre mask suitable for internationals
So please donate what you can to help us help fencers. Every donation, however small, will make a difference.
We have a number of ways you could donate so you can choose what works best for you:
